Opening of the FEDERA Health Centre
On 17 September 2024, the grand opening of the FEDERA Health Centre – FEDERA’s largest project – took place. It is the first medical facility in Poland created to showcase best practices in the medical field. It is a place where reproductive rights are approached comprehensively, guided by empathy, the latest evidence-based medicine and putting women’s wellbeing at the centre.
The FEDERA Health Centre will host specialists in gynaecology, psychiatry, psychology, sexology or obstetrics. It will also be the venue for training and workshops, including on CSE and for medical staff. The opening was attended by representatives of government, the press, NGOs, the legal and medical community and people who have worked with FEDERA over the years.
Further penalties for hospitals
Facilities in Lubartow and Wroclaw have been fined by the National Health Fund relating to refusals of abortions. In both situations, the patient’s rights were violated, as confirmed by the Patient Ombudsman. These victories were made possible thanks to the activities of FEDERA’s legal team
A crowdfunding campaign
FEDERA carried out a crowdfunding campaign to purchase hygiene products for those affected by the floods that hit southern Poland. In one week, an amount of PLN 27 000 was collected, which was used to purchase several thousand sanitary pads and nappy pads, which were delivered to the hospital in Stronie Śląskie.
