ACTIVISM

The Federation was established by people whose common ground was the opposition against the interference of the Church and the state in the right to decide about their lives. The Federation has “grown out” of grassroots protests. Initially, its main goal was to prevent the introduction of the restrictive abortion act in the early 1990s. One of the first of the Federation’s activities was supporting the Bujak’s Committees that collected signatures under the request for a referendum regarding the introduction of the conservative abortion act. Later, when the act was already in force, the Federation always reacted to the attempts to restrict the law even further. We organized and coorganized demonstrations, protestations, pickets, and happenings that were attended by hundreds of thousands of people.
